"The Porsche 996 was the first water-cooled example and ushered in a new era for the 911. The 997 had the performance and luxury to create what Porsche deemed as the 'ultimate sports car'. Technically similar to its predecessor, however more refined, the 997 became the most commercially successful 911 of all time and, for the first time in Porsche history, the development of the cabriolet version of the 997 led the design and engineering effort with the coupé following. Porsche applied the logic that if you start with the more difficult challenges of the cabriolet, the coupé version would simply be more rigid. Despite the additional weight, the cabriolet versions nearly attain the same performance figures as their coupé counterparts. Interestingly Jeremy Clarkson, a known detractor of Porsche cars, noted that the 997 will “make love to your fingertips and stir your soul.” This wonderful Porsche 911 (997) Carrera 4S Cabriolet is presented in Slate Grey metallic paint with black full leather interior. This example benefits, not only from the electric cabriolet folding roof, but also from the sought after manual six speed gearbox, a higher performance 3.8 flat six engine and a practical four wheel drive system that was designed to change the driving behaviour of the Carrera, making it more stable and useable in real world conditions. This car was specified from the factory with 19” 'Sport Design' wheels, desirable Sports Chrono pack, Bose sound system and navigation system. Supplied with a comprehensive provenance and history portfolio, including the original driver’s manual, stamped maintenance book with the last service in August 2018 at 67,172 miles and black leather Porsche wallet. The car will also come with a fresh MoT test certificate and many of the previous owner’s invoices, receipts and previous MoT test certificates. The 997 Porsche in C4S guise is perhaps all the sports car one would ever need, combining performance and reliability with the comfort and drop top motoring. This is a fabulous example sure to be popular with enthusiasts and attract significant attention."
