The Porsche 996 was the first water cooled example and ushered in a new era for the 911. The 997 had the opportunity to evolve performance and luxury to create what Porsche deemed the ultimate sports car. The most significant changes were to the interior and exterior styling. The 997 Carrera S had larger 19” alloy wheels, revised front lights and the engineering changes included an increase in power. Powered by a 3.8 litre flat-six-cylinder engine, producing 360 bhp propelled the 997 from 0-60 mph in just under 4.7 secs and onto a top speed of 188 mph.
