The Porsche 996 Turbo was the 6th incarnation of the marque’s top-of-the-range 911 Turbo. Available as a Turbo Cabriolet for the first time in nearly 15 years, this model created a great deal of excitement amongst Porsche fans. Compared with the previous 993 Turbo model, the 996 represented a virtual redesign. Cosmetically, it moved Porsche on in many significant yet subtle ways: the lines were smoothed out, the windscreen was raked back, the cabin was roomier, and the fascia finally looked like it had been styled. The structure was 45 per cent stiffer yet lighter than the older model. The chassis was a perfect match for the engine’s performance.

The 996 was the 6th incarnation of the infamous Porsche 911 and its Turbo variants. The Turbo S was ultimate iteration of the 996 Turbo and included several features that were optional on the standard Turbo. The standard 996 Turbo had a Metzger-designed 3.6 litre engine, with twin turbochargers, and was water cooled, raising power up to 420 BHP.  0 to 60 mph therefore only took 4.2 seconds. The S variant however, featured larger turbochargers, uprated intercoolers, and revised engine management. The optional X50 power pack was included in the S model, which raised power to 450bhp and cut the 0-60mph time to a stunning 3.6 seconds. The Turbo S also came as standard with carbon ceramic brakes which raised the stopping power to another level.

Supplied new by Porsche Centre East London in March 2005, (by a current member of Hexagon’s sales staff!), the Turbo S Cabriolet is complete with 6 Porsche main dealer service stamps. It is complete with original book pack, CoA, history file and spare remote key. It will be freshly serviced prior to sale and a 12-month comprehensive warranty will be included.

It is available for immediate viewing at our London showroom.
