"The Porsche 996 is the internal designation for the Porsche 911 model- manufactured and sold between 1998 and 2005. On its debut, the 996 featured the most significant changes to the Carrera model since its 1963 introduction, namely the water-cooled engine replacing the previously air-cooled unit. Progressively stringent noise regulations, environmental concerns, a higher expectation for refinement and a high-performance, four-valve-per-cylinder engine made the switch necessary. Other changes included a sleeker body with a more steeply raked windshield and a re-designed interior.
Originally registered on 20th March 1999, this Carrera Tiptronic S has recently benefitted from a full engine rebuild including six new pistons, big-end bearings and an upgraded intermediate shaft bearing. At the same time, a new starter motor was fitted as well as new front and rear road springs. Two new roof motors have also been fitted. All of this work was carried out by Porsche specialist Brookspeed of Eastleigh in December 2017 at a cost of £14,481. Finished in black with tan leather interior, this Porsche is supplied with a V5C registration certificate and an MoT test certificate valid until 17th January 2020 together with invoices for the above work. Having covered circa 200 miles since the engine work was carried out and only being sold due to poor health of the vendor, this Porsche 996 offers excellent value given the recent significant investment.
