Description

The 993 Turbo heralded the final iteration of Porsche’s air-cooled sports car and a shift in design, offering a six-speed transaxle with twin turbochargers. This 993 Turbo, one of 1,297 examples built for the US market in 1996, was configured with black leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, sunroof, air-conditioning, and an optional CDR-210 stereo head unit. Originally retailed through Premier Motorcars of Albuquerque, New Mexico, this Polar Silver Metallic Turbo sold to its first owner in 1996, who then relocated to Arizona in 2000. It was acquired by its second owner in 2007 and resided in Mississippi until being acquired by the consignor in 2019. In the care of its second owner, the Porsche’s catalytic converters were removed and Garrett turbochargers installed, along with a cockpit-mounted boost control.

In October 2019, the Porsche underwent a service at a Texas-based marque specialist, including the rebuild of the transaxle and one of the Garrett turbochargers, replacement of the clutch slave cylinder and hydraulic pressure accumulator – work amounting to over $9,000. This pristine 993 has had only two private owners, shows under 23,000 miles, and is accompanied by CARFAX and AutoCheck Vehicle History Reports, the original window sticker, purchase documents, service records, factory manuals, spare keys, and accessories. It has also been extensively detailed in preparation for sale. For the Porsche purist, this final air-cooled iteration of the 911 is the zenith of the marque.
