Description

The introduction of the Type 993 was an important milestone in the history of the continued development of the Porsche 911 as it was destined to be the last to use the air-cooled engine so characteristic of the 911 since its introduction 30 years ago. The 911 Type 993 is considered by many to be the most beautiful of all the 911s. Over the years, the 911 received numerous aerodynamic and safe additions that affected the purity of the original shapes, but the arrival of the Type 993 It marked a return to basic principles, with the car still recognizable as a 911, but in which all functions had been seamlessly integrated into this truly extraordinary example of modern car styling.

At the same time as the streamlined body was introduced a multi-link rear suspension that improved both the ride comfort and the dynamic behavior by reducing the tendency to oversteer at the characteristic foot of the 911. Not only the engine 3,6 liters delivered more power than previously, but it produced it over a wider range of speed thanks to variable-diameter "Variocam" distribution and variable-geometry intake manifolds. Introduced in 1995, the Type 993 Turbo was the first standard Porsche equipped with a twin-turbo engine and the first 911 Turbo incorporating a permanent all-wheel drive. With 408 hp, the Type 993 Turbo offered a level of performance close to that of the Porsche 959 supercar with a time of

An important landmark in the Porsche 911's continuing development for 1994 with the introduction of the Type 993, which was originally designed for the first time since its introduction 30 years previously. The Type 993 is regarded by many as the most beautiful 911 of all. Over the years the aerodynamic and safety-inspired add-ons, diluting the purity of the original form; the Type 993's arrival marked a return to basic principles, being recognisably a 911 but one in which all functions had been harmoniously integrated in a truly excellent example of modern automotive styling. The range is still pretty much ahead, including two- and four-wheel drive models, the legendary Turbo and Convertible Cabriolet, all powered by the latest 3.

Along with the sleeker bodywork, we've improved the quality of both roadside and ride quality, reducing the 911's characteristic lift-off oversteer. The 3.6-liter engine is more variable than variable valve timing and variable-length air intakes. Introduced in 1995, the 993 Type Turbo was the first Porsche production model to feature a twin-turbo-powered engine and the first 911 Turbo to incorporate permanent four-wheel drive. With 408PS (402.5bhp) we type, the Type 993 Turbo offered a level of performance approaching that of the Porsche 959 supercar, racing to 100km / h in around 4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 290km /h.
