Description
First built for the 1996 model year, the Porsche 993 Carrera 4S combined the curvaceous body shell of the Turbo with all-wheel drive and a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine. Other features included the Turbo’s brakes, 18" Turbo-Look wheels, and a lower stance compared to a standard Carrera.
This 1997 Carrera 4S is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black leather interior. Factory options included hardback sport seats, Litronic headlights, M030 sport suspension, Motorsound package, hi-fi sound system, rear window wiper, and onboard computer. Illustrated by dozens of service receipts on file, this car was spared nothing as mileage was quickly accrued by its first two owners. Most notably, this 4S was sent to legendary Porsche tuner Andial in September 2005 for an engine rebuild to 3.8-liter specification using new pistons, flycut cylinder heads, and RS camshafts. Acquired by Rudy Mancinas in November 2013, this 4S sports other enhancements, including a Bilstein PSS9 coil-over suspension, color-matched hardback seat shells, Turbo S front air ducts, Porsche Classic radio, 996 three-spoke steering wheel, aluminum gearshift, hand brake, and a Carrera 2S split grille.
While registering over 170,000 miles on its odometer at the time of cataloguing, this car presents like a much younger example and is offered with books, tools, keys, compressor, spare, and a file of documentation. A modern classic breathed upon by Andial, this car awaits only a new owner to “drive it like he stole it” as its past custodian was fond of saying.
