Description

C-16, UK-supplied, right-hand drive, 6-speed manual 993 Carrera 2 indicating just 65,986 miles from newDesirable high-spec with factory X51 3.8 engine upgrade, sharing components with the 3.8 RSOther factory upgrades include M303 sports suspension, sports exhaust system with dealer upgraded RS Aero kit and 18"Speedline wheelsFinished in triple black;Schwartz Metallic paintwork with black leatherand black carpetsOffered from 20 years of long-term ownership, the X51 package is seldom seenNowadays the 993 model 911s are becoming increasingly popular, in part due to the fact that they are much better looking than their immediate successor but also due to the fact that they were the last of the air-cooled 911 era from Porsche. They represent a very smart modern classic sports car with excellent build quality, good performance and relatively basic maintenance requirements. As such we have noted a steady increase in the values of good examples especially those with ultra-rare factory performance upgrades. Most popular are manual 993s with the later VarioRam engine.Offered here is a rather rare911. According to the option sticker present in the first page of the original service book, this particular UK C-16, right-hand drive 993 C2 had been specified with; X51 power pack, lowered suspension, electric sports seats, 18"wheels, rear wiper, top-tint screen, air conditioning and sunshine roof. Another option code present is 09991 the special wishes programme. The special wishes option may apply to the Aero Kit fitted, however, this is yet to be confirmed. The gearbox code stated on the option sticker shows G5021 this example for 993 aficionados could be the Holy Grail with engine update and lower gear ratios.Research suggests that for just 8 months in 1996 the 993 model had been updated with the VarioRam engine but retained the G50/21 gearbox before Porsche were required to update the gearbox with longer gear ratios due to emission regulations. The X51 power pack when specified on the later Varioram 993 model increased power to a claimed 300bhp. This is achieved by adding more capacity(3800cc), RS cylinder heads, camshafts, valves and a modified RS engine management.Offered from 20 years long term ownership, this special 993 indicates just over 65,000 miles on the speedometer. The aforementioned original service book is present and shows service stamps with official main agents up to 42,273 miles. We are informed that the car has spent long periods of time off the road stored up on axlestands (to help prevent theft). The car is offered with an MOT valid until 5th November 2021 and will be fully detailed prior to our viewing period.Inspection of this super-rare 911 is highly recommended, the condition at present is good but with some careful attention to detail, this example could be transformed into something quite special. Further research could identify if the Aero Kit is indeed factory fitted or possibly a dealer fitted option. These details didnt worry our vendor, he purchased the car because he liked its appearance and the way it performs. It could be a long time before another right-hand drive, manual, Varioram 993 with X51 3.8 power pack comes to market.
