"The Porsche 993 was introduced in 1994 as a replacement for the 964 generation of the iconic 911 models and was built until 1998. Regarded by many as the best generation of 911's ever produced from Stuttgart, this car was the last to use the air cooled flat six engine that had powered 911's for the previous thirty years. The 993 was offered in a number of guises and specifications during its production life including two and four-wheel drive trains, known as Carrera and Carrera 4 respectively.
With the 993 representing the ultimate development of the legendary air cooled flat six Porsche engine, this beautifully presented and well documented first year 3.2 litre Tiptronic car offers excellent value for money and a rare opportunity. It is hard to believe that this car has covered 116,000 miles as the exterior paintwork gleams and the interior shows little sign of wear, even the engine compartment is clean and well presented; although having had a £6,000 re-build in 2004 at around 85,000 miles, this is hardly a surprise. The engine fires up on first attempt, runs smoothly and the Tiptronic gearbox works well. If the car had not been subject to a Cat C repair around 2002 it would be estimated 30%-40% higher. As such, this 993 offers accessibility to a market many enthusiasts are priced out of. This lovely Carrera 2 offers entry to the 911 club at 944 turbo prices. It also benefits from upgraded Bilstein shocks at a cost of nearly £2000 and 18-inch Porsche wheels. Any lingering doubts are quickly dispersed upon inspection of the car itself and its impressive history file.
The car is supplied with V5C registration document, MoT test certificate, private number plate, many receipts, two keys, the owners pack and manuals.
