Description

Just mention "Carrera RS" and Porsche enthusiasts will get very excited. The pure, extremely sporty ‘Rennsport’ 911s have a great race history and are therefore particularly sought after. Collectors are willing to pay huge sums of money at auctions for original RSs, whether it's a 1972 Carrera RS 2.7, a 1993 964 Carrera RS 3.8 or a recent 991 GT2 RS. These collector’s items will make you feel like the open road is a racetrack, while on track you feel like you are battling for the lead. Each and every RS was built in small numbers. Which only further increases the mythical proportions of these very special cars.

After the legendary Carrera RS 2.7, the first evolution model appeared in 1974: the 911 Carrera RS 3.0, based on the G-model. Featuring a bored-out engine with a displacement up to three liters, as well as a higher compression ratio, this version took the stellar performance of the original RS to another level. The 230 bhp ‘flat six’ was able to shoot the Carrera RS 3.0 to 60 mph in just 5 seconds, the top speed of this 1060 kg lightweight 150 mph. Almost half a century ago, these figures were sensational. Even the most expensive exotics with double the number of cylinders (from Italy) weren’t able to keep up. Only 109 Carreras RS 3.0 were built. This makes this version one of the rarest 911s of all time.
But what to do when the original is out of your league? When a 911-enthusiast makes the decision to build an RS replica based on a 'standard' Carrera, everyone understands. It is the only way to make a long-cherished dream come true, isn’t it?

However, some enthusiasts go even further than that. For example the former owner of the car offered by Nout Classic Cars. He took a Carrera 3.0 as a basis, and built a car, inspired by the Carrera RS 3.0, entirely to his own unique vision. This particular 911 should not be labeled as 'replica'.
What is immediately noticeable is the spaciousness of the wheel arches. The Slate Grey Porsche stands on 15-inch Fuchs wheels, that have much more freedom of movement than on the 'standard' model. This 911 was prepared for rally stages, where a slightly higher ride height never hurts. Neither does a set of spotlights on the nose. The perforated aluminum skid plate under the front bumper prevents the oil cooler and front suspension from contact with an unpaved surface. Solid armor is also mounted under the engine. This rally car was not built to pray for mercy, it was built to finish – preferably in the highest regions of the leaderboard!

Under the dark-grey sheet metal hides technology that makes this Porsche a very serious rally weapon. The original 3-litre engine has been replaced by Porsche's famous 3.2-liter air-cooled six-cylinder boxer. As standard, this engine delivers 231 hp. It is mated to the legendary G50 gearbox, a differential lock ensures that there is never a moment's loss of power, even if the rear wheels have to find their traction on a slippery, unpaved surface.
Reliability was on top of mind during the construction of this 911, as was the safety of the pilot and navigator. The braking system of the car has been upgraded with 930 Turbo disc brakes, while the suspension got a set of Bilstein shock absorbers. An adjustable racing pedal box has been used for an optimal working position behind the wheel. Naturally, a sturdy roll cage was built in the car, Recaro bucket seats and Sabelt four-point seat belts keep the occupants firmly in place. Naturally, there is a fire extinguisher on board, while a heated windscreen guarantees a clear view in all weather conditions. A Brantz International 2 'S' Pro tripmeter exclude errors in time measurement.

This car can be used immediately for rallies, as it comes with a FEHAC/FIVA Identity Car for registration at both national and international competition. A great tribute to the original Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0.
