Description

"Porsche do ‘retro’ well. The 911 was first introduced in 1963, it was therefore an obvious choice to produce just 1,963 examples for this celebration model. Globally. It is believed only about 100 came to the UK. The details, both internally and externally, make you smile and nod quietly to yourself as you walk around the car. The 20” black and chrome Fuchs-style alloy wheels that fill the wider body donated by the Carrera 4S, the seats optionally covered in leather or with the original houndstooth check centres (called ‘Pepita’ in 1963) and, of course, each car is numbered on the passenger-side dashboard. Additionally, each car is reserved one of three special colours for this, the Anniversary Edition, pale Geyser Grey, darker Graphite Grey or Black. Other individual flourishes include smoked mascara headlamps, chrome edges between the taillamps and, again, on the rear engine cover. The logo’d cluster of five dials, just like the early 911s and those great ‘tomb-stone’ seats, oh so reminiscent of those early cars. Power has not been overlooked either, the 3.8 litre motor now pushes out just shy of 400bhp, more than you’ll ever need and if you do find yourself in a traffic light grand prix, 0-60 will take just 4.5 seconds in the manual version and a bit quicker with the PDK transmission. Porsche Doppel Kupplungs or double clutch automatic to us mere mortals. This is one-off with much to offer the collector though. Adjustable suspension is standard, as is an exhaust button that opens up the tubes with further adjusters for the steering and throttle response. There's little to add to the car available today, it is ‘as new’ with only 70 miles recorded. The car is simply faultless and has been stored in a climate controlled environment since its acquisition. Presented in Graphite Grey with houndstooth seat-centres, this is a rarity given its mileage and condition, reported to be ten out of ten in every respect. Originally delivered from the factory to Porsche Centre Kendal and registered on 30 May 2014, then resold to Porsche Centre Chester in 2018, the car has had two owners neither of whom has ever driven it. A specialist's Porsche intelligently set out with just the right amount of modern engineering tied in with that twist of the early days of the 911."
