Description

"The Porsche 964 is the company's internal name for the Porsche 911 manufactured and sold between 1989 and 1994. Designed by Benjamin Dimson in 1986, it featured significant styling revisions over previous 911 models; most prominently, the more integrated bumpers. Porsche chose to reuse the 3.3 litre engine from the 930 with several minor revisions that made the engine smoother, less prone to turbo lag and more powerful with a total output of 320bhp at 5750rpm. The 964 Turbo is considered to be one of the prettiest 911's built and certainly one of the more powerful.
This absolutely stunning example supplied new by Chariots of St Albans (now OPC Hatfield) is presented in Guards Red with contrasting grey extended leather trim and red piping. The car has been subject to extensive expenditure to bring it to an immaculate standard. Our vendor who has owned three 911/964's in the past, this being his second Turbo, set out with the intention of a show winning standard and thus has spent in excess of £26,000, not including a top end engine rebuild less than 10,000 miles ago. The service record and history file is as impressive as the car itself showing 31 stamps across two service booklets, the last with Northway Porsche in February 2019, this is coupled to a bulging history file full of receipts and MoT test certificates.
In 2012/2013 a comprehensive mechanical and fuelling overhaul was undertaken in great depth to ensure the 964 was setup with various new fuelling components, this was to guarantee a perfectly running engine and coupled to a new exhaust system. Once our vendor was happy with the running of the car he commissioned LeMass automotive to carry out a full glass out respray in its original colour of Guards Red, due to fading paintwork and there is a photographic record of this within the history file. In 2016 a partial interior retrim and refurbishments was undertaken to the original Porsche specification and as such the car presents in near new condition. In 2017 a suspension and brake overhaul was undertaken in line with the car having had a vehicle inspection by RPM Porsche and their recommendations.Unfortunately last year our vendor had notification from Aviva that the car had had a minor front end incident in 2004, something that had not been picked up on in any inspection prior. Our vendor therefore has had the car condition inspected by AutoLign to ensure any repair works were carried out to a high standard, he was pleased to find they were and as such the car is now listed as 'condition inspected'. The details of this can be found in the history file which also contains dealer booklets with the stamped service history alongside two sets of keys and original sales brochure. This is an outstanding example in near show quality and with all of the trimmings of a great Porsche 911, having been owned and cherished for the past six years and serviced by some of the courtiers leading Porsche specialists, we doubt you will find many better. * Interested parties should note the number plate shown is to be retained and a new, age-related registration issued instead. *"
