The stories accompanying our advertised cars are each read many thousands of times. So we can almost take it as fact that among the readers of this text are people who were stopped in the 1990s by exactly this Porsche 911 of the National Police Corps. This 964 was taken into use in 1993 by the Dutch Police. In those days you would almost consciously drive a little too fast to risk being 'plucked out of the way' by a Porsche.

Porsche and the National Police go back to 1962. In that year there was a collaboration for the first time, which allowed the gentlemen to race over the Dutch highways with beautiful 356s. At that time, the number of road deaths is rising rapidly, so a special unit is needed to combat this.
The Porsches are very popular and various models are reviewed. First the 356, then the 912, which according to the gentlemen is too slow. That is relieved by 911s, with grinning cops in the parking lot. The first models appear in the mid-1960s and this continues for thirty years, until the collaboration ends in 1996. The 911 you see here is from 1993, the year that the police chose the convertible instead of the Targa. Fewer units of the convertible are delivered than the Targa, which was part of the standard equipment of the Police for many years. And so this 911 convertible is special in every way.

We don't even have to elaborate on the maintenance of this 964 in its early years. After all, if there were Porsches that were maintained maniacally, it was the cars with orange and blue stripes. The years after, the 911 has it a bit quieter. After its active years of service, the car still has an exemption to be used, but you will understand that such a car is no longer used as a Sunday afternoon ride. You also get strange looks during rush hour, so the Porsche has had a quiet life since it was no longer used actively.

Not only the technology, but also the visible subjects, the interior and exterior, are in a formidable condition. The paint and stickers are 'mint' and all typical police attributes are present. The beacon on the A-pillar, the blue lighting in the fog lamps, the Stornophone 6000 on the center console, the dreaded 'STOP POLITIE' in the rear light bar: everything is still mounted and there are exemptions to drive the car during events and rides . You may still not use the light and sound signals but, hey, which agent with a Mercedes-Benz B-class or Audi can stop you for that when you are on the road with your Porsche?
The 'men Police' handled their equipment with great care, so the entire interior is in top condition.

A piece of Dutch automotive history, this Porsche 964 Cabriolet Police.
