EXTERIOR
Straying from the trademark silver metallic paintwork synonymous with Porsche’s early race cars, the sweeping curves of this Spyder Evocation are simply stunning in a coat of Aston Martin Racing Green. Functional rear intake vents accentuate the Spyder’s flared hips whilst trim details, such as the aluminium front mounted fuel filler and recessed aero wing mirrors, really demonstrate the attention to detail that went into this fabulous build. Perfectly placed on the front wing the gold Spyder badge offsets the gorgeous green finish; a subtle touch that encapsulates the Porsche’s classical charm.

Condition of the car is flawless, having covered just 80 miles since being built its fiberglass shell presents in showroom condition.

INTERIOR
Weight saving was the main focus of the original 550 Spyder so it’s nice to see this evocation staying true to form. Pedals, gearstick, handbrake and the minimal switchgear are all beautifully milled in either aluminium or 304 stainless steel, saving weight whilst also staying true to the wonderful period aesthetic of the car.

A wooden Nardi steering wheel, 4-point race harnesses and beautiful set of low slung bucket seats combine to create a space that the feels like a race car straight out of the 1950’s. Diamond stitched grey leather adorns the front seats to provide a small sense of luxury, concealing a set of built-in zoned heaters for those chillier drives.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Staying true to the original Spyder this Evocation also features a 4-Cylinder engine, however with more modern refinements, reliability and power. The engine is a 2.5L Subaru unit paired to a custom ECU alongside a TIG welded 304 stainless steel exhaust with dual Magnaflow mufflers and an Aluminium performance radiator.

Producing 230bhp it provides substantially more performance than the original car; with its fiberglass body and custom tubular chassis it weighs in at just 612kg, giving the car astonishing power to weight ratio of 375bhp per tonne. All transferred via a 4-Speed Manual gearbox to the rear wheels this Spyder is a truly enthralling drivers car.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Continuing the period aesthetic, this Evocation is equipped with a set of staggered wheels, measuring 15×5.5” at the rear and 15×4.5” an the front. Brand new matching tyres sit at each corner, fitted just 80 miles ago when the car was completed.

Paired nicely behind each wheel are spun aluminium disc brakes with brushed aluminium disc brake covers.

HISTORY FILE
The Spyder Evocation was professionally built by Seduction Motorsports & Vintage Motorcars, specified to the current owners exacting demands. Unlike many other recreations this example is built on a bespoke tubular chassis, with integrated jack points and a full aluminium bonded floor. The level of work was so high that when the car was imported to the UK in 2018 it was actually registered as a 1955 Porsche Historic vehicle after inspection by the DVLA.

Since coming to the UK the car has resided in storage, covering just 20 miles since it was MOT’d in 2018 for registration purposes. Registered as a 1955 vehicle it in exempt from road tax and future MOT’s, however a thorough mechanical inspection shows the car is in perfect working order, as to be expected given its delivery mileage.

Present with the car is the spec list, detachable frame and soft top roof (still in original wrapping), full tonneau cover fitted, V5 and 2 sets of keys.
