Description

The Porsche 356 C can hardly be distinguished externally from the 356 B T6.
What is striking are the modified wheels with simpler hubcaps. The change of the wheel discs is due to the fact that Porsche now equips all production cars with disc brakes.
The “SC” was with its 95HP the most powerful 356 with the usual 4-cylinder Boxer engine.
Porsche itself only surpassed this with the rare Fuhrmann Königswellen engine with 130hp.
This 1965 Porsche 356 had been restored years ago and got a new engine from the factory with a mileage of 54.000km. The restauration was made with sensitivity to keep it`s originality and patina.
It is one of 588 356 C Convertibles build in 1965 as a “SC”.
Check the Kadex:
This 356 SC Cabriolet was built late and is therefore already equipped with the 12 volt system ex works.
This makes this 356 much more usable.
The vehicle was delivered on May 28, 1965, via the Porsche dealer Otto Glöckler and registered to its first owner in Frankfurt am Main on July 16, 1965. The other owners can be found in the original vehicle registration document (cardboard document).
The engine was replaced by Fleischhauer, Cologne, as part of an official customer service in the 1970s. Of course, an original 356 SC engine was used again, engine code 616/16. The engine is marked with AT in front of the engine number.
In the 1990s, this 356 was revised. Repainted in silver grey, inside equipped with black leather. He’s doing really well today too. You can see a few, minimal traces in the paint/small scratches, etc. Together with the impeccably preserved interior, the result is a very coherent overall picture. A subtle patina makes this 356 SC an extremely likeable appearance. Even if the revision was made a long time ago, there is no need for action. Also, the hood is in very good condition.
The driving behavior is impeccable. The engine revs powerfully and hangs well on the gas. The brakes work perfectly. The steering works without play and the transmission shifts smoothly and cleanly through all gears. You can clearly feel that this 356 SC has always been serviced regularly. The tires, Michelin XAS, still have almost the full profile. The oil and filter were recently changed as part of an inspection. The vehicle has a regular German road registration for historic cars.
These 356 have excellent, almost modern driving characteristics. In terms of acceleration and handling, they meet all the requirements for keeping up with traffic.

Convince yourself with the pictures, place your bid and keep up the traffic in style…
