Description

"The Pontiac Chieftain is an automobile which was produced by Pontiac from 1949 to 1958. The 1949 Chieftain and Streamliner models were the first all new car designs to come from Pontiac in the post World War II years. Previous cars had been 1942 models with minor revisions.
According to records, this example was first registered in the UKin February 1989 and subsequently purchased by our vendor in November 1999 who was the second UK owner. Presented in black coachwork with contrasting patterned and original cloth trim, this Pontiac is in original condition throughout and, despite showing wear to the interior trim and pitting to the chrome with a slightly dulled paintwork, remains in very good order and retains a lovely patina. Accompanied by the more desirable and larger 4.1 litre Silver Streak I8 engine, this example also featured in the US NBC television production ‘Dead by Sunset’ in an episode called ‘Annie a Royal Adventure’. These are rare examples, and with a touch of cinematic provenance would be a great American collector’s car offered without reserve and with a UK V5C registrationdocument.
Guide Price £8,000 - £15,000
