It is unheard of to find a 205 GTI in such an excellent state of preservation. This 205 was bought new by a Parisian diplomat, primarily for his wife to use on short journeys, as he had the use of official cars. He acquired it from the Peugeot dealer in Avallon, near his second home, delivered in black with black leather interior. He had requested a car with every option available in the catalogue: sunroof, power steering, ABS, air conditioning and all leather interior. At the start of the 2000s, his wife was no longer in a position to use the car, which had covered less than 14,000 km at this point, and it was parked in a heated garage, used occasionally and not forgotten about.
What is striking when you open the door, is the overall condition of the car. The mats are unmarked, the seat leather is superb with no signs of wear. We had a look at the underbody which is also in exceptional condition. The car has just been serviced by Peugeot G2 at Triel sur Seine, a major specialist for the model. The garage stamped the logbook for the first time !
Over 2000 € was spent on the car, with valve gear, tyres and fuel pump replaced.
Having had just one owner from new, this exceptionally original 205 GTI is an uncatalysed model with the most powerful engine, producing 130 bhp. It is therefore the most desirable version, in the best specification, that has covered just 14 500 km since leaving the factory. A 205 GTI, exceptional and rarely seen in this condition, ready to satisfy the most demanding enthusiast’s nostalgia.
