Packard introduced the Caribbean in 1953. Only offered in a convertible, these cars were elegantly appointed for the time period. The Caribbean’s started out life as Packard Cavaliers which were then modified by the Mitchell-Bentley Corporation in Iona, Michigan. For the 1953 Model year, Packard produced 750 Caribbeans. This is a unique opportunity to purchase a rare Packard.
This 1953 Packard Caribbean is presented in green with a white convertible top and matching boot cover. The car is powered by a 327-cid, 180-hp straight eight-cylinder engine which is paired to Packard’s Ultramatic automatic transmission. Power equipment on the car includes seats, antenna, windows, steering and brakes. The interior is completed in a full-leather two-tone green and white featuring a clock and radio; as well as an engine turned gauge cluster. The Caribbean rides on wide whitewall tires which are mounted on Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels. Exterior features on the car include accenting brightwork and a color matched continental kit.
