In 1948 Packard introduced the Station Sedan which was based on the Standard Eight Sedan and turned into a wood-paneled station wagon. Featuring fastback styling and white ash wood exterior accents the Station Sedan was a beautiful car for the time period. A highlight of the Station Sedans are their beautifully design split tailgates, an element that would become increasingly popular in later years. Packard produced the Station Sedan through the 1950 model year in limited quantities.
This 1949 Packard 8 Station Sedan is presented in maroon with wood accenting panels and brightwork. The car is powered by straight eight-cylinder engine which is paired to a column-shift manual transmission. The car rides on wide whitewall tires which are mounted on steel wheels with full factory wheel covers. The interior is completed in tan leather with Bedford cloth inserts all of which is accompanied by wood accents. The back of the rear seats and cargo compartment area feature a wood bed type design with metal slats similar to that of period pickup trucks. This restored example of a 1949 Packard Eight Station Sedan is ready for the next owner to enjoy.
