Launched in 1948, the Morris Minor was one of the most produced British cars. The model was extremely successful and sales reached a total of over a million by 1972!
The Minor on offer is a right hand drive model and was purchased by the current owner in 2005 at an Artcurial sale, just after its restoration. The odometer had been reset to zero during restoration and showed just 50 km at the sale. The car was hardly used and the counter indicates 67 km! This very attractive "Traveller" version in elegant "old English white" livery features outer wood paneling, reminiscent of the heyday of the "woody" estates, and a petroleum blue vinyl interior in perfect condition with matching carpets. During the restoration, the mechanicals, the chrome and the woodwork were redone and in 2005 the engine was still running-in. It seems the car still is today.
A test drive showed that the car is running well, the engine starting at the first turn of the key. Very pleasant, easy to use and full of charm, this Minor Traveller is as much a delight in the city as it would be for a gentleman farmer of taste.
