The Morris Minor was launched at the first post war British Motor Show in 1948, by the time the two-door tourer version had ceased production in 1969 an incredible 1,583,622 cars had been produced!
Sir Alec Issigonis had produced another motoring icon, the other being of course the Mini. These cars were almost the English Beetle, a typical people’s car. They provided transport for a great cross section of society, from school teachers to police officers (in the form of the famous pale blue/white panda cars).
