The Moretti Company took great pride in hand building small and stylish sports cars from 1926 until 1960. Unlike many small Italian manufacturers such as Siata, Cisitalia, Abarth and Nardi, Moretti built the entire car themselves, relying far less on the use of Fiat components than the opposition.
Giovanni Moretti’s infant company survived the war and he soon realised the enormous demand there would be for small, cheap cars. First, the company developed a compact two cylinder 350cc car called La Cita. This was followed by a two door sedan which featured his own all new SOHC four cylinder engine. Initially of 600cc capacity this was soon enlarged to 750cc.
