Description

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V European version with only 56,300 km on the clock.

One of the most sought after rally homologations for 90s car enthusiasts. The Evo V was known for winning rallies on weekends and, in its street version, for leaving many Porsches and Ferraris behind at the traffic lights. With a turbocharged four-cylinder 2,000 cc engine delivering 276 hp to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, it was capable of accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds.

This particular model is one of the few Lancer Evolution Vs manufactured with left-hand drive (LHD). It is believed that only 320 units were produced, and only 38 of them made it to Spain. All the left-hand drive Evolutions from this era had the RS trim level because they were intended to be purchased by a rally team and then used as a base for building their competition car.

The RS models were not only the lightest of all the Evos but also came with a five-speed manual transmission with short gear ratios, rally suspension, Brembo brakes, and a limited-slip differential. They had only the necessary features for a good rally base, resulting in less weight and better acceleration.

This unit is in very good condition. It was originally sold in Spain, where it has remained to this day. It has just 56,300 kilometres on the odometer and is almost entirely original. Its only defect, as shown in the photos, is that there are signs of repair on the front and on the right rear side. The repairs only affect specific parts of the affected panels and not the entire piece, indicating that it may have had a minor collision at some point in its life. However, it does not appear to have been anything structural, and it is currently in very good condition.

The exterior is completely original, finished in the classic white colour of the RS models, and it comes with its O. Z. Racing 17" rims, which are in very good condition. For many, the Evo V is the most beautiful of the series, thanks to the design of the front bumper with the large fog lights. This unit still retains the fog light covers, as can be seen in the photos. There are no signs of rust, except for minimal superficial marks that are expected in a car that has not been restored.

The interior is completely original and is in very good condition. As an RS model, it has the regular seats of the Lancer, no electric windows, and no radio. The steering wheel is a factory-original three-spoke Momo that only came in the RS models. Inside we can find the magic button that throws water into the intercooler. The driver's seat has a small hole that can be seen in the photos.

The engine is in its original state, in very good condition, and runs perfectly. The only modification it has is the exhaust system, a very popular modification for these cars as it gives them a lot of character and a spectacular sound. The five-speed manual transmission works perfectly and is known for being very precise and having shorter gear ratios than the Evo GSR models. This is because in rallying, it is advantageous to have shorter gear ratios, as it translates to better acceleration.

In conclusion, this is an opportunity to acquire one of the most sought-after cars from the 90s, with low mileage, in very good and original condition. It is one of the few units manufactured with left-hand drive and one of the most sought-after versions of this rallying icon.

The vehicle is located in Bilbao, Spain.
