History of the model

The story of the Mini "Arc de Triomphe" began in the heart of Paris, in the 17th arrondissement. It was from this famous dealership on Rue de Tilsitt that one of the most exclusive and elegant versions of the classic Mini was born. At a time when driving with the wind in your hair in the British car was a privilege, Rover granted an exclusive agreement and a very limited number of licenses to carry out these officially approved, handcrafted conversions. In total, across all engine options, it is estimated that around 500 approved examples were produced! Needless to say, spotting an authentic Arc de Triomphe Cabriolet has become an absolute rarity.

Our model

This 1992 example, equipped with the 1000 engine, is presented in a superb Smoke Grey livery that perfectly highlights its timeless lines. It's a car we know particularly well, having completely restored it in our workshops. Absolutely everything was thoroughly redone: the bodywork underwent a complete overhaul, the subframes were treated with epoxy for long-lasting protection, and the entire mechanical assembly, including the engine, gearbox, and clutch, was fully rebuilt.

The interior has received the same meticulous attention, with bespoke upholstery crafted in deep carmine red leather – a choice that echoes the clean lines of the early Mk1 and Mk2 Minis. This harmonious color scheme is complemented by a matching soft top and tonneau cover in the same carmine red hue, as well as a stunning Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel that provides the quintessentially British finishing touch.

Beyond its refined aesthetics, this Mini is a pure joy to drive, offering unaltered driving sensations.

Histoire du modèle

L’histoire de la Mini « Arc de Triomphe » s’écrit au cœur de Paris, dans le 17e arrondissement. C’est de cette célèbre concession de la rue de Tilsitt qu’est née l’une des déclinaisons les plus exclusives et élégantes de la Mini classique. À une époque où rouler cheveux au vent à bord de la puce britannique relevait du privilège, Rover avait accordé un accord exclusif et un nombre très limité de licences pour réaliser ces transformations artisanales officiellement homologuées. Au total, toutes motorisations confondues, on estime qu’environ 500 exemplaires homologués ont vu le jour ! Autant dire que croiser un authentique Cabriolet Arc de Triomphe est devenu d’une rareté absolue.

Notre modèle

Cet exemplaire de 1992, équipé du moteur 1000, se présente dans une superbe livrée Smoke Grey qui souligne à merveille ses lignes intemporelles. C’est une automobile que nous connaissons particulièrement bien pour l’avoir entièrement restaurée dans nos ateliers. Absolument tout a été repris en profondeur : la carrosserie a bénéficié d’une réfection complète, les berceaux ont été traités à l’époxy pour une protection durable, et l’ensemble mécanique comprenant le moteur, la boîte de vitesses et l’embrayage a été intégralement révisé.

L’habitacle a reçu le même soin méticuleux avec une sellerie sur mesure confectionnée dans un cuir rouge carmin foncé, un choix qui fait écho à l’esprit épuré des premières Mini de génération Mk1 et Mk2. Cette harmonie de couleurs est complétée par une capote et un couvre-capote assortis dans la même teinte rouge carmin, ainsi que par un magnifique volant Moto-Lita en bois qui apporte la touche finale typiquement britannique.

Au-delà de son esthétique soignée, cette Mini est un pur bonheur à rouler, offrant des sensations de conduite intactes.
