Description
"The launch of the original Mini in 1959 created a sensation. The compact design and innovation was a real masterpiece of engineering and provided a spacious interior and exceptional roadholding. Fast forward a few years and the space in the market for a performance related version was noticed and gave birth to the Mini Cooper. This new model featured a more powerful engine and improved handling. It became an immediate success and went on to achieve greatness. Fast forward 35 years, and the Rover group thought it would be a good idea to celebrate this little motoring icon, and the Mini Cooper 35 was born. The immediate interest was encouraging and when it was announced that it would be limited to a production run of 200 units for the UK, and 200 for Japan, the response was amazing. All 200 were finished in Almond Green with a white roof and luxurious porcelain green leather with a dashboard finished in walnut. Powered by a 1275cc fuel injected engine mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox.
This example presents in outstanding condition. The paintwork is in good order and the leather, woodwork and carpets are unmarked. It is clear to see that this car has been cherished by its owner over the last 10 years. We are also informed that this Mini is a joy to drive. Presented to auction with a V5c registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until October 2023 this rare and desirable Mini is offered without reserve."
