Description

In 1903, a young Dutchman, Sylvain de Jong, founded „Societe Anonyme Minerva Motors“ in Berchem (Antwerp), Belgium. Volume car production began already in 1904 with a range of two, three and four-cylinder models. The company was also focused on the motorsport, they won the Belgian Circuit des Ardennes race in 1907 and succeeded in famous Austrian Alpine Trials or Swedish Winter Trials. They sporting results, among the silent sleeve valve engine and sophisticated meant, that Minerva became popular by royal families and prominent persons like kings of Belgium, Sweden, Norway or Henry Ford and Anna Boch.

During the WWI the company moved to Amsterdam where they maintained development of their automobiles. In 1920, they returned to Belgium to restart the production of luxury cars with AB and AC models.

This Minerva AC with chassis# 53117 was made in 1924. It is a top of the line model with 5.355cc 6-cylinder sleeve valve engine. The car has an original Brooks & Ostruk Tourer body, with all details and lovely patina. Engine and chassis is in great running condition.
