The MG TF design carried on a long line of successful cars from the British car manufacturer. It was recognized that the MG was America’s most popular sports car in this era; there were 48 MG sports car clubs worldwide at the time this car was new. Quality, ruggedness, wonderful handling and great performance were all factors in this model of car’s amazing success. The MG had become part of the American motoring landscape.
Finished in green with a tan interior, soft-top and side curtains; this 1955 MG TF Roadster is powered by the 1,250-cc four-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission. With approximately 57,000 documented miles, this example is reported as being a nice driver-quality vehicle that has an older restoration. Along with unmistakable style, the MG features a folding windshield, rear-mounted spare, distinct octagonal Smiths instrumentation, comfortable seating and factory steel wheels with whitewalls. Space is found behind the seats for normal luggage requirements that will accommodate a journey away from home.
