"The 1950 MG TD was produced with rack and pinion steering, smaller 15” disc type road wheels, a lefthand drive option and standard equipment bumpers with overriders. It also featured twin fuel pumps, revised dampers, and a higher rear-axle ratio. Nearly 30,000 MG TDs had been produced, including some 1,700 Mk. II models. When the series ended in 1953, all but 1,656 were exported with 23,488 of them to the United States. An example tested by 'The Motor' magazine in 1952 had a top speed of 77mph and could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 18.2 seconds.
This lefthand drive example was repatriated to the UK in 2018 and a restoration project was started although not completed. The current vendor has re-commissioned the MG, fitting a new fuel tank and completely overhauling the brake system. She is perfectly useable as is or further time and investment will naturally improve the quality of this TD. Registered with the DVLA and supplied with a V5C registration document, we are advised the vendor will put the car in for an MoT test prior to auction."
