This MG TC is a fine example of the classic English roadster and is highly desirable today. In the traditional colour scheme of British Racing Green over a matching green trim, this example presents well. Accented with a refreshed timber dashboard and full instrumentation, this unique MG is one of only 10,001 produced worldwide, making it rare and very collectible.
With Australia's climate well suited to sports motoring this example gained a strong following in this market and was soon developed by many privateers for racing. The MG TC was revered for its simplicity and ease of maintenance. With its original 4-cylinder 1,250cc engine paired to a four-speed manual transmission, this MG runs and drives very well.
Accompanied by an original Workshop Manual, Service Manual and mechanical receipts, this example has been beautifully cared-for by its previous owners and would complement any collection.
The TC arrived immediately post-war in 1945 to a market hungry for a sports car. Around 100mm wider to the TB model it replaced the TC soon found favour in the U.S. despite the fact it was only built in right hand drive. Top speed was listed at 129 km/h with 0 to 100 km/h a rather leisurely 21.3 secs.
