Designed in-house at MG, with final styling by Farina, the new MGB was launched at the 1962 Earls Court Motor Show. Its appeal was instant, offering a huge increase in interior space while having overall dimensions less than those of the MGA. Introduced in 1967, the 3 litre, 6 cylinder MGC looked very similar in appearance to its little brother the MGB, but closer inspection revealed the bonnet ‘bulge’ and carburettor ‘blister’ together with larger, wider tyres showed that these powerful little cars meant business.
