Description
The MG MGB is one of the most popular classic roadsters on Polish roads. This shapely vehicle is valued for its dependability and simple design. It represents what post-war British motoring industry was truly good at, namely mass produced lightweight sports cars offering a unique thrill of driving.
This particular red MGB offered at our summer auction left the factory in 1973. It was originally sold in Canada, where until recently it was used as a weekend car. Its current owner purchased the car 2 years ago. After it was brought to Poland, it underwent a partial restoration, focused mainly on body- and paintwork. Since then the car has been used the way it was always intended to, that is only on warm and sunny days, allowing for the full top-down experience. The car is in overall satisfying condition thanks to a thorough mechanical inspection. Last year, an oil service was performed along with changing of all vital fluids and filters. The owner also had the carburetors adjusted, thanks to which the engine runs smoothly and has lost none of its power. Performance of this car may come as a surprise even to experienced drivers. Visually the car is pretty much spotless, paintwork has no major deficiencies and interior has been preserved in an overall good shape. One may notice that some of the trim bits are missing (boot liner for example), but those parts are inexpensive and easily available. Decorative bits, such as slats or bumpers have not been restored in any way, but they do not affect the overall presence of the car.
The vehicle offered by Ardor Auctions is an affordable British classic, which will not require any costly maintenance or repairs. Its original specification and chrome gallantry are its huge asset, as opposed to later model years featuring plastic bumpers.
