We don’t believe the MG B needs much introduction. The British roadster is one of the most well-known and popular classic open two-seaters and for years was the standard bearer when visaulising a classic roadster. The closed B GT may be slightly less famous but still a lot of fun. Actually it looks like the GT is becoming the MG B favourite. We understand why that may be!
The GT’s wonderful line that sits between a hatchback and fastback is one of Pininfarina’s designs. Three years after the introduction of the open MG B, the GT came along in 1965.

This is a 1969 GT and has recently been wonderfully restored. This was a sound car to start with before being restored to factory fresh standard. The unblemished brightwork and new wire wheels complete the look totally.
The bodywork is ultra straight, underlining the professional standard of the restoration. There is nowhere to hide with a black finish and this car is nothing less than spotless. The alignment is very good, resulting in equal panel gaps. As already mentioned the rest of the details are in perfect shape.

Step inside and you are greeted by the presence of a fine early type dashboard. Gauges and all switching gear are in peak condition as are the pristine gear knob and steering wheel. The carpets and front and rear seat upholstery are as good as new. There is simply nothing negative to report on.

The 1.8 four-cylinder was not forgotten during its restoration. The aesthetics and mechanical aspects are on an equal par of being in peak condition. The engine bay, including the engine block and surrounding bodywork, look as fresh as a daisy. The 1.8 litre B-series engine runs smoothly without any nasty noises. The fact the ride matches the looks is a given. The GT is great to drive and the manual 4-speed gearbox is pleasant and direct to use. Underneath was also fully tackled and therefore the whole car is 100% in order.

In short this is a fantastic MG B GT bound to give its new owner heaps a pleasure. It unbelievably beautiful lines will ensure you will have to have a last peak over your shoulder once you have parked.
