Description
This original left-hand-drive North American MGA Twin-Cam Roadster was constructed March 24–April 6, 1959, and finished in Old English White with black upholstery and equipped with a black convertible top, centerlock disc wheels, heater, windscreen washers, and side screens with sliding windows in aluminum frames. It benefits from maintenance, care, and freshening over the years and is presented today in engaging race/rally form including a rare Auster competition windscreen, Lucas front and rear fog lamps, leather bonnet straps, and full zippered tonneau. The numbered livery represents its early days when the car is believed by the consignor to have been a privateer SCCA weekend racer.
The odometer currently reads under 39,000 miles and an inspection, service, and tune-up were performed during summer 2019. A new soft top was installed in spring 2019 and weather gear includes correct aluminum- Plexiglas side curtains. A period-style Suixtil touring bag contains leather and stringback driving gloves, and an MG-branded blanket. Accompanying items include a lead wheel hammer, spare Dunlop wheel assembly, and British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate in a bound document wallet. In short, this exceptional 1959 MGA Twin-Cam Roadster is versatile and eager to deliver immediate enjoyment at nearly any vintage event.
