The MGA originated in 1951 when MG's own designer, Syd Enever, designed a streamlined body for George Philips' TD Le Mans car. Initially, the project did not lead to a production car because when the prototype of the MGA was shown to BMC Chairman Leonard Lord, he had just signed a contract with Donald Healey for the Austin Healey project two weeks earlier. However, sales of the traditional MG’s at that time, the TF, were declining, and the project was allowed to proceed. In 1955, the MGA became a reality.
The MGA was a completely departure from its predecessors. The body was placed on a wider frame. This allowed the floor pan and seats to fit between the frame instead of on top of it, resulting in a much lower and more modern car than its predecessors.

This beautiful MGA is one to drool over, not only because of the stunning combination of cream white paint with red upholstery but also because of its condition: fully restored and overhauled, equipped with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine from an MGB, coupled with a five-speed gearbox and other modifications. The perfect MGA for the sporty drivers among us.

The exterior of the MGA has been exceptionally well-preserved. The paintwork is quite beautiful, and the hinged parts fit perfectly. Doors, front, and rear trunk close smoothly and fit perfectly. The abundant brightwork is also in excellent condition, partly restored and partly chosen as 'new' when the entire car was refurbished. Every part, from the fuel filler cap to the headlights, from bodywork to windows and rubber seals: this car has been brought to its current condition with lots of love.
The interior is also very beautiful, with lovely red leather upholstery. It looks authentic, feels nice and supple, and the seats are comfortable. The carpeting has also been renewed.
The dashboard, adorned with beautifully lacquered wood, looks pristine and houses the exquisite Jaeger instruments. The beautiful, narrow steering wheel with thin spokes feels fantastic in hand and invites you to enjoy many beautiful rides.

And then there's the technology, perhaps the reason for choosing this MGA. Under the hood, a 1,796 cc four-cylinder engine out of a MGB has been installed, producing over 96 hp, measured on a dynamometer, with the printout available with the car’s papers. The new power unit is coupled with a manual five-speed gearbox. This is particularly enjoyable if you plan to drive a lot with this wonderful A. For some extra excitement, there is a stainless steel exhaust system fitted underneath the car. An oil cooler has also been installed, and electronic ignition is present. For even more driving pleasure, an improved suspension has been chosen for sporty handling, and the brakes have been modified to match the rest of the enhancements.

The car comes with some invoices, a maintenance and parts book, and some other documentation. Truly a car for enthusiasts who desire a beautifully original-looking MGA but at the same time crave a bit more power and excitement while driving.
