Again we managed to find a real Cool Classic. A Mercedes 280 SEL W108 4.5 liter eight cylinder in very good condition with a beautiful color combination.

The W108 was halfway the sixties the successor of the W111 Baureihe and at the end of the seventies it was succeeded by the W116 (first official S-class). In the end only 11,309 units of this 280 SE 3.5 version were built.

Our Weisse W108 is outside the condition (which we describe as excellent), fully documented. She started her life in Palm Springs, California with her first owner George Garcia. 46 years later she came to the Netherlands, where she is still owned by her first Dutch owner. He in turn provided the Mercedes with a new interior and has recently had a technical check-up.

The important options of the 280SEL are; automatic, power steering, heated rear window, spotlights and armrests both front and rear. We can also say with certainty that the odometer reading is correct, because in addition to the original title, we also have all American maintenance history. In addition, we have had the Mercedes completely checked by our specialist and from this came the conclusion that the entire floor is rust free and unrestored!

The V8 engine delivers more than enough racehorses (200) even in modern traffic and sounds beautiful. Not only the looks are impressive, but also the technology fits in seamlessly.

We think that this W108 with its condition, documentation and technology can be interesting not only for enthusiasts, but also for investors!

Der W108 war Mitte der sechziger Jahre der Nachfolger der W111-Baureihe und wurde Ende der siebziger Jahre durch den W116 (erste offizielle S-Klasse) abgelöst. Am Ende wurden von dieser 280 SE 3.5 Version nur 11.309 Einheiten gebaut.

Unser Weisse W108 befindet sich außerhalb des Zustands (den wir als ausgezeichnet bezeichnen) und ist vollständig dokumentiert. Sie begann ihr Leben in Palm Springs, Kalifornien, mit ihrem ersten Besitzer George Garcia. 46 Jahre später kam sie in die Niederlande, wo sie immer noch im Besitz ihres ersten niederländischen Besitzers ist.
