Description

After several successful years in Formula 1 (in 1998 and 1999 Mika Hakkinen became F1 World Champion in a Mercedes McLaren), Mercedes decided to commission McLaren to develop and produce a daily usable super sports car. The result was the Mercedes SLR McLaren, mainly made of carbon. This car is often seen as the best of Mercedes as well as of McLaren; the comfort of Mercedes and the sharpness of McLaren. Competition came from the Porsche Carrera GT and the Ferrari Enzo Ferrari.

The SLR McLaren has a 5.4 l V8 engine with compressor from AMG, the tuning company of Mercedes-Benz. The V8 engine produces 623 hp and a maximum torque of 780 Nm, which is released at 3250 rpm. The top speed of the SLR is 335 km/h, a sprint from 0-100 km/h takes 3.8 seconds and 200 km/h is reached in 10.5 seconds.

The car has ceramic brakes and an air brake. These ensure that the braking distance from 192 km/h to 0 is only 73 meters, the same as the braking distance of a normal car from 96 kilometers per hour to a standstill.

This SLR in typical silver silver with an exclusive black leather interior dates from 2005 and has a modest 17,000 km on the clock. Board folder with all booklets, as well as the maintenance booklet is present.

The car will receive the necessary maintenance before delivery.

New price of this car in 2005 was around €500.000 in Belgium. The competition (Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo) are well past this price level. The SLR is still being exchanged these days for amounts well below the new price, but the question is how long this will last!...
