Always have liked the SLK (R170) and especially when they have the larger engines fitted - this cracker has the 3.2 litre V6 kicking out 215 bhp mated to the Benz 5G-Tronic gearbox, which equates to a spirited motoring experience

Top speed is above 150mph and the dash to 60mph is well below 7 seconds too - no sluggard, is this Mercedes

No need to store a hard top, as it folds down, or up, hydraulically - "simples", as they say nowadays

Fitted with lovely cold air conditioning (freshly re-gased), full leather interior, burr veneers adorns the centre console, door cards & steering wheel, cruise control, SLK overmats and 17" alloy wheels

Purchased from a friend of ours who gave it to his wife - his motoring tastes include racing cars, upgraded E Types, Ferrari's (classic versions) and even the odd Americana too - when they travelled to collect her straight from the Factory in Germany

Must have been a delightful drive home, whilst running-in during the first 1.000 miles - all motorway, always the best way to bed in any new motor

His wife is a caring sole, and hence this SLK is not like many you could find at this age - immaculate would be the best description we suggest, there are many others similar to use obviously

Freshly MoT'd and serviced we have repainted her in our body shop and she looks truly amazing

We chose a modern version of a Classic theme - dark body colour with lighter accents to the hard top and wheels - just like an early Pagoda 230SL, with which we are very happy. From the waves and 'thumbs-up' from passers by, it seems that others enjoy her too
