One of the finest examples on the marketFrom a long lineage of beautiful Mercedes-Benz SLs, the R129-serieswas introduced in 1989 and continued the company's tradition of fast and reliable grand touring convertibles. Developedfrom the earlier R107 500SL, the brand new design was powered by a5.0-litre V8 engine producing some302 bhp. The new model also featured an expanding roll-over bar, a fully electric hood, electric seats, mirrors, anti-lock brakes and a multi-link rear axle. A facelift of the R129 was carried out in 1995 which included revisions to the headlights, rear lights and automatic climate control.
