This R129 cabriolet with its five litre V8 and 326 hp, automatic gearbox, leather interior, air conditioning, electrically operated soft top as well as a hard top is a Swiss delivery and was first registered on the 15th of January 1992. Several years ago, the Mercedes was taken over by the husband of the last owner - most probably from the first owner. After the husband‘s demise, the 500 SL, in order to prepare it for the upcoming MOT, was entrusted to a repair shop. Here the car spent the next three years in the cellar before both distributer caps, both ignition rotors, coils and a complete set of ignition wires as well as the spark plugs were replaced. After failing the MOT, the cabriolet was parked once again. In 2023 the ADS suspension system was extensively repaired and the car successfully MOT’d with the local authorities. Now the R129, with 112’000 kilometres driven, presents itself in technically good condition with the coachwork and interior showing minor signs of use. The soft top was replaced in January 2024 but the hard top, after having been stored in a cellar for a number of years, requires a restoration. The last MOT was completed in June 2023
