Description

"The Mercedes-Benz SL Class has been manufactured since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German 'Sport Leicht' or 'Sport Light' and was first applied to the 300 SL 'Gullwing,' named after the upward opening doors. The term SL Class refers to the marketing variations of the vehicle, including the numerous engine configurations spanning five design generations. The R107 took the chassis components of the mid size W114 model and mated them to the larger engines from the S Class (W116) and has become a benchmark of quality throughout the years. Over its 17 year reign, the R107 range was powered by no less than eight different engines - two sizes of straight six unit and six versions of V8s.This wonderful example of the German classic is presented in metallic Champagne with brown cloth interior and comes with a full service history including fully stamped service books and invoices. It also comes with its factory hard top and original factory brown soft top hood and factory optional rear seats, which is a great bonus. The present owner has fitted new chrome bumpers front and rear, new rubbers all round, all new tyres and a new battery has been fitted. The interior is in good condition including dashboard and all the centre wood veneer. The car also benefits from a recent respray in December 2019 which still looks fabulous. This is a great example of these hugely popular and practical classic open top sports cars, offered in wonderful condition."
