Description
"The Mercedes-Benz R107 was produced from 1971 through to 1989, being the second longest single series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz after the G Class. Sold under the SL model names, the R107 replaced the W113 SL Class in 1972 which was in turn replaced by the R129 SL Class in 1989. The SL variant was a two-seat convertible/roadster with standard soft top and hardtop and optional folding seats for the rear bench. Volume production of the first SL started in April 1971 alongside the last of the W113 cars. The SL roadster has since become the epitome of what a luxury roadster should look like and can be found from Aberdeen to Antibes and indeed in every corner of the earth and wherever the jet-set congregate.
This splendid 280 SL has only had two former private keepers and is showing 134,551 miles on the odometer. Finished in blue, this R107 comes complete with the desirable rear seats and has clearly been well cared for. Supplied with a V5 registration document, previous MoT test certificates and various sundry invoices and 24 stamps in the service book. The original purchase invoice is also present and confirms that this Mercedes was delivered new to the pop group, the Kook’s. This is an opportunity to purchase a much loved Mercedes-Benz that, given the estimate, is offered at a very realistic price.Interested parties should note that this vehicle would benefit from an engine tune prior to use.
