Mercedes. More than a badge. 

With the 350 SL, Mercedes built a new roadster class in 1970 that has remained almost unchanged for two decades. This series, also known as the R 107 (where the R stands for roadster), symbolises the classic travel sports car with modern technology, which combines particularly good driving performance with a high degree of comfort.
 
And what a great idea it was to combine good driving performance with comfort. The 3.5-litre V8 with 200 HP provided absolutely lavish driving performance for its time, but not at the expense of comfort. When you look around the car, you immediately notice that no savings have been made on the chrome. Indeed, it is everywhere (even in the door lock) and when you look into the cockpit, the 70s comes fully alive again. It exudes an atmosphere of solidity and it breathes German punktlichkeit. At the time the car was anything but cheap. In fact, at the time the 350 SL was twice as expensive as an E-type. But we believe it was 'money well spent', because this is an unprecedentedly good car.
 
And then there's ours; it's from the third owner, it was recently checked technically and it's in a super good, original and undamaged condition. You don't see them like that very often.

Mit dem 350 SL baute Mercedes 1970 eine neue Roadster-Klasse auf, die seit zwei Jahrzehnten nahezu unverändert geblieben ist. Diese auch als R 107 (wobei das R für Roadster steht) bezeichnete Baureihe symbolisiert den klassischen Reisesportwagen mit moderner Technik, der besonders gute Fahrleistungen mit einem hohen Maß an Komfort verbindet.
 
Und was für eine großartige Idee es war, gute Fahrleistungen mit Komfort zu verbinden. Der 3,5-Liter-V8 mit 200 PS bot für die damalige Zeit absolut üppige Fahrleistungen, allerdings nicht auf Kosten des Komforts. Wenn man sich das Auto ansieht, merkt man sofort, dass am Chrom nicht gespart wurde. In der Tat ist es überall (sogar im Türschloss) und wenn man ins Cockpit schaut, werden die 70er Jahre wieder lebendig. Es strahlt eine Atmosphäre der Solidität aus und atmet deutsche Pünktlichkeit. Zu dieser Zeit war das Auto alles andere als billig. Damals war der 350 SL sogar doppelt so teuer wie ein E-Type. Aber wir glauben, dass es gut angelegtes Geld war, denn es ist ein beispiellos gutes Auto.
 
Und dann ist da noch unseres; es ist vom dritten Besitzer, es wurde kürzlich technisch überprüft und ist in einem super guten, originalen und unbeschädigten Zustand. So etwas sieht man nicht sehr oft.
