The Mercedes W113 type, nick-named "Pagoda" due to a distinctive and patented concave hardtop roofline. Many see as one of the most beautiful cars ever built. All 280 SL models were equipped with an inline 6-cylinder engine with mechanical fuel injection. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes and radial tires gave the 280 SL superb handling for its time.
