Description

-- Für die deutsche Beschreibung besuchen Sie bitte unsere Website www.carola-daimler.de --

The Pagoda offered here in graphite grey DB 190 with cognac leather is an absolute eye-catcher. The untreated natural leather, gives the interior its own dreamlike patinated personality.

The engine has been "sharpened up" a bit and puts about 185 hp. on the road. A noticeable difference from the normal 170 hp. In addition to the increased power, other tweaks include a retrofitted but original 5-speed ZF transmission and mechatronic suspension - both things that make this Pagoda the absolute perfect driver. And due to the long (3.46) rear axle it is also the perfect choice for longer distances.

The car originally comes from the USA and was imported to Germany via Holland in 2012. Here it was Europeanised, restored and optimised in 2013. You have to feel this Pagoda on the road! The driving pleasure is guaranteed!

In a value appraisal from December 2018, the vehicle received a grade of one minus. The Pagoda has been continuously maintained and serviced on a regular basis. A photo documentation of the comprehensive body restoration is available. After the return to Europe, a new KM speedometer was installed which now shows a credible 14,300 km (see TÜV reports). Due to the low mileage and careful treatment, the vehicle has a pleasant patina.

History of the series
------------------------

The top model of the SL series W 113 produced 170 hp from its 2.8 l displacement. As the successor to the 190 SL series, it fulfilled the wishes of many customers for more power and comfort. Due to the smooth running of the large in-line six-cylinder engine, the Pagoda also offered exceptionally good travelling qualities, making it a pleasant companion on rallies & trips.

The safety measures, which were new and trend-setting for the time, ensure a relaxed feeling. These included a defused interior without corners and edges, seat belts as special equipment and defined crumple zones.

The name "pagoda" was given to it by the vernacular, as the concave roof resembles the temples from the Far East - the pagodas, in fact. Yet the shape was originally intended quite rationally to improve the space available.
