This car has been restored and maintained by the most renowned specialist in classic Mercedes-Benz in Spain: the company Cochera. Since the import from the USA in 2006 by its first owner, the car has been restored and prepared to participate in the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique in 2007, 2009 and 2010.

Its best position was a more than praiseworthy 9th position—among the more than 300 participants—in the 2009 edition. The car did not only proof its reliability, but also a more than remarkable competitiveness as a historic vehicle for regularity races.

Despite having participated several times in this legendary rally, most of the originality of this 190SL has always been preserved. Matching numbers and matching colours. It still has its beautiful 166G blue grey original colour with its blue leather interior, dashboard and doors.

Excellent car, fully ready to enjoy it. Completely serviced at the aforementioned workshop with a cosmetic and mechanical upgrade worth more than €30,000. This included a bodywork, paintwork and chrome check, a full engine and mechanical service, including an upgrade of the brakes, new tyres and the cosmetic preparation of the engine bay and the interior.

The car still has its undamaged dashboard with all its original clocks, but it had also fitted a smaller diameter Nardi steering wheel of the period with a wooden ring plus the usual custom accessories for regularity rallies, such as VH-trip, auxiliary lights, etc. which can be easily removed. The current seats of the car are beautiful and comfortable semi-bucket seats upholstered in leather.

Th car has its original M121 921 type engine, which has had some compression improvements, Weber carburettor, cylinder head and camshaft which improve the performance, making it more cheerful and fun. It is estimated that these improvement added about 15 extra hp to the original 120 DIN, and made it easier to rev.

An alternator, a fuel supply system with electric pump with pressure regulator and electric fans give the car extra mechanical reliability, more thermal stability to the engine and, ultimately, a greater reliability to the whole.

The gearbox and the rear axle are original and they are completely serviced. The suspension has all its rubber blocks, ball joints and so on upgraded, also stiffer shock absorbers, exclusively made for this car.

As for the brakes, it has front disc brakes and the rear drum brake system and the original ATE power brake setting have been preserved.

The improvements in the engine, suspension and brakes with front discs make it possible to enjoy the car for touring, in mountain passes or to drive it without problems in any of the most demanding historical regularity races in Europe.

To use it in these sport competitions, the car has as extras: a detachable anti-roll arch, front and rear lights grille for night races, retro sports seats, 6-point harnesses, fire extinguishing kit and extra gauges elegantly built into a detachable centre console. There is also 1 extra set of 4 original rims with slick tyres available.

The car has a restored hardtop painted in dark blue, as well as its original set of bumpers which are not fitted and that will need to be chrome-plated for a demanding user. The chrome hubcaps will be also delivered with the car. The full soft top and the original seats are not available, but it is relatively easy to find these parts in used condition if you want to complete the vehicle with its original settings.

Ready to enjoy it or race. Thanks to its sporting history, it could be the ideal candidate to participate in a new edition of the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique, since it is an eligible car, with a history in the race.
