The car that we on offer here today is a second series Mercedes 190 SL first registered in Sweden on the 1st of January 1961 to a Swedish nobleman in the south near Malmö. The car was sent for a mechanical restoration during the 1980s during which the engine, gearbox and chassis were restored, while retaining the original yellow paint and the red upholstery. He kept the car until the 10th of October 1998 when it was sold to Per Erik Jönsson in Tjörnarp. Mr Jönsson wanted to finish the restoration and re-painted the car in its current paintwork and had the car re-upholstered at the same time. The car was kept in the south of France at the owner's French house. When the House was sold in 2012, the car was part of the real estate deal. The restoration is not quite finished as the cabriolet top needs trim and a few details here and there must be fitted like a rear window and a boot lock. Nothing expensive or difficult to find is missing but the current owner feels like the next owner should be the one to decide how the work on this car should be finished.
