As the few SLR being built by the motorsport department do not exist any more, the Mercedes Classic Centre in Stuttgart produced a replica in the mid nineties for exhibitions and classic rallies, quite often driven by the owner of this 190 SLR which is now for sale. The Mercedes Benz SLR for sale is “one of the best existing replicas in the world” (quote: Mercedes Benz Classic Centre) and was built seven years ago by a very well-known marque specialist for classic racing cars in Germany as a complete bolts and nuts restoration, based on a 1959 SL.
Today the car is presented in extremely original condition throughout and is free of any accident damage and rust. The car is painted in the original Mercedes soft silver colour of the mid fifties works racing cars. I
