Description

1955 Mercedes Benz 190SL roadster, Serial Number 1210425501570, DB172 Anthracite Grey with bamboo leather and carpets, 1.9 litre in-line 4 cylinder engine with twin Solex carburetors making for 105hp, 4 speed manual gearbox, drum brakes, period Blaupunkt radio, black convertible soft top, factory removable hard top, our 190SL is from the first year of production which would see 1,727 examples built worldwide, as a 1955 example it is outfitted with some very cool early design elements – from the small window in the hard top, the gullwing style sport seats, eyebrows devoid of chrome strips, body mounted rear license plate lights and our favorite, the turn signal indicator incorporated in the steering wheel trim ring, not to mention the stunning white steering wheel and gear shift knob, 5501570 was completely restored just a few years back by celebrated marque specialist, Jurgen Klockemann of San Jose, California and sparkles from top to bottom in its stunning color scheme of Anthracite Grey with bamboo and is both sporty and elegant all at once.
