"The S-Class is a series of luxury flagship vehicles produced by Mercedes-Benz and each generation typically introduces a range of technical innovations and developments that over time will find their way into smaller cars. As with any new S-Class the innovations list is too long to mention but advances in safety and comfort are always at the forefront for the wealthiest of Mercedes-Benz clients. The 5.5 litre V12 engine provided significant power for the driver offering 510bhp and, when tested by Car and Driver, reached 60mph in 4.2 seconds performing a 1/4 mile sprint in under 13 seconds all in opulent luxury.
International Hall of Fame boxer ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed competed from 1992 to 2002 and is ranked as the third best British featherweight boxer of all time by BoxRec. He held multiple world championships at featherweight, including the WBO title from 1995 to 2000, the IBF title in 1997, and the WBC title from 1999 to 2000. He also reigned as lineal champion from 1998 to 2001, IBO champion from 2002 to 2003, and held the European bantamweight title from 1994 to 1995. Hamed was known for his unconventional boxing antics and spectacular ring entrances which included entering the ring on a flying carpet, a lift and a palanquin, as well as re-enacting the video of Michael Jackson's Thriller, and wearing a Halloween mask. He was also known for his front somersault over the top rope into the ring, his highly athletic and hard-hitting southpaw boxing style, and formidable one-punch knockout power; having finished his career with a knockout-to-win ratio of 84% winning 31 by knockout, 5 by decision and just 1 loss.
First purchased and registered to the Hamed family on 1st May 2006 we are informed that this was amongst the very first W221 S class Mercedes released by Mercedes-Benz in 2006. Naturally being the flagship 5.5 litre V12 engine model, this S-Class was supplied with an incredible array of equipment as standard; however this didn’t stop Naseem Hamed specifying the car with extra options totalling over £6,000.
