Description

"The Mercedes-Benz W126 is a series of saloon vehicles manufactured from September 1979 as the successor to the earlier W116 line, the W126 being the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz flagship to officially bear the S-Class name referring to Sonderklasse or ‘special class’. The W126 was initially offered in straight six, V8, and turbo diesel saloon models. Compared to its predecessor, the W126 was more aerodynamic, fuel efficient, capacious, and more powerfully engined. The W126 range also introduced many Mercedes-Benz safety innovations including the first airbag (supplemental restraint systems), seatbelt pre-tensioners, and traction control. The W126 had a twelve-year production run between 1979 and 1991, the longest of any S-Class generation since the flagship models were first built in the mid-1950’s.
This delightful Mercedes-Benz was originally registered on 13th January 1989 and has covered 67,584 miles in its 32 years on British roads. The light blue coachwork is in very good order and the contrasting dark blue velour interior virtually unmarked. Clearly a very well cared for example, this 300 SE comes from the era when Mercedes-Benz were building cars that would seemingly last forever. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 1st February 2022, with only three previous keepers these W126 models are becoming increasingly rare-particularly in this condition.
